Alert: U. S. Embassy Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, October 31, 2022

Location: Equatorial Guinea

Event: On October 25, the Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea announced that Equatorial Guinea’s land borders will be closed beginning on Monday, October 31, and will reopen sometime after elections are held on Sunday, November 20.  The government later reiterated that this closure only applies to land borders and not to international flights to or from the country.  The U.S. Embassy in Malabo will send additional alerts if there are changes to this policy.
